At the end of last year, the first impressive Lifehood house began to take shape in Kauklahden, Espoo. The developer, Priester, reached out to explore how Ewona’s products could support the acoustic goals set for the project in collaboration with Kalle Lehtonen from Promethor Oy.
These goals were defined as follows:
- A cozy and pleasant soundscape
- Normal conversation should not be heard through doors – in any room
- Acoustic solutions should be fully integrated into the structure and remain visually discreet
Acustica Premium Delivers a High-Quality Sound Environment
The chosen solution for the project was our versatile Ewona Acustica Premium acoustic panel, which can be used on visible surfaces or hidden within structures for background acoustics. One of the product’s key advantages is its textured surface, which allows acoustic plaster to adhere easily. It is also rigid enough to be over-plastered. Together with acoustic plaster, Acustica Premium provides a stylish and discreet acoustic solution.
In the Lifehood project, Acustica Premium was used as background acoustic treatment in bathroom spaces and integrated into the upstairs ceiling, combined with acoustic plaster.
Acoustics Designed to Withstand Minimalist Interiors
“When the homes were completed, it was fascinating to see how well the acoustic goals had been achieved. The soundscape is calm even with minimal furnishing, and this is especially noticeable in the bathrooms, where you can have a conversation without disturbing echo. We installed a multi-room sound system in one of the homes. In rooms equipped with speakers, residents can listen to their preferred music, podcasts, or audiobooks without the sound bleeding into other rooms. As for the home theater—well, that’s an experience you simply have to try yourself.”
